J.T. Motorsports was established in 1997. We started in the Hobby Stock Division at the Shawano Speedway in Shawano, Wisconsin. 1997 was our rookie year; we started out with a 1972 Chevelle chassis and body. It was a fun year ending up in 12th place in points and only missing rookie of the year honors by several points. We were a very small operation working out of a 1-stall garage.

year started out good running the same car that we had in 1997 with the same motor. Several weeks into the season we lost the motor and had to purchase a new one. The motor we did purchase was much bigger & better built and it had power to spare. Then a few more weeks into the season tragedy struck again coming out of turn two under full power, got a little push from behind and spun and hit the wall, that's were all the fun started by the time it was all over I had rolled over three times and the car was totaled. Needless to say we decided to call it quits for the year because I was doing this whole operation out of my own pocket.

we made a new start with a completely new car, we came out with a 1982 Monte Carlo chassis and body. We had a new power plant sitting under the hood ready to race competitive among the other drivers, and with several years experience under my belt, I was ready to go. We had a lot of trouble in the start of the year with breaking things on the car that put us out of some of the races. Our team ended up 10th in the points because of some of these problems. But with all the hard work of the J.T. Motorsports team we did not miss a single night of racing, this shows the dedication that my crew and myself have to racing and making an impressive showing. Once again most of the money was coming out of my own pocket except from a lot of help from my wife and my mom which are probably my biggest supporters.

season was a completely different year. Shawano Speedway decided to make a change to our class of race cars, the change they made was to go to a completely different class and this class was the IMCA sanctioned stock car class. This change was not all bad seeing it was a sanctioned class and had a sanctioned set of rules. The problem was that are old cars were not even close to being legal for this class. Once again we decided to probably take a year off because I could not afford to build a new car. Well that's the way it started out anyway, all it took was sitting up in the stands two weeks and finding out it wasn't the same thing. Within a month we built a brand new car, 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass, and decided to take it out for a couple of weeks to see what the car would do. We raced a total of eight Saturday nights and ended up 19th in the points.

season is being planned as an all out year, we are planning on runnning every Saturday night at Shawano Speedway. With the passing of my Mom we started out with a personal goal of not missing a race in the year. We did accomplish this, but had a really tough year in trying to get the car in the winners circle. But with complete dedication on my part and that of my crew we did make every race. we did have a really tough year with keeping the car going, had problems with numerous things breaking and got into several bad wrecks which really took us out of contention. I would like to say Thank You to all who stuck behind us even in a tough year.

After much discussion and personal choices made it was decided that we where going to take the year off from racing. This was a very tough decision but due to problems with the car and a real lack of funds and sponsorship it was decided this would be best.

Could be a different venture. After a deal came along we have decided to move up a class. We are going to be moving up into the IMCA Modified division. We are starting with a used chassis but could progess into a new one if things all pan out. So stay tuned  for more details and pictures of the car to come in the near future. The 2003 year was not a good one. Tried running the mod for awhile but found out I didn't have enough motor or enough cash to run competitve. The car was sold to another racer and plans started for 2004.

was a new venture. the race team decided to move up to the limited late model class. We purchased a Parker Chassis and the team got to work. Parts were all put together and with the help of Joe Braatz a good friend and a former Wissota Late Model driver the car chassis was put together and all set up. A new power plant was built by Randy at Magnum Motors that was awesome. We raced at Shawano Speedway and finished up  12th in the points, missing 3 Saturday nights due to personal reasons. Points wise if we had competed for the whole season we would have ended up 9th. The biggest highlight of my year was getting "ROOKIE OF THE YEAR" honors in the Limited Late Model class.

the team has decided to keep racing in the Limited Late Model class. The car has been stripped down and the motor is back by Randy at Magnum Motors and he is going to freshen it and tweak a little more power out of it. Stay tuned for further info on the car.
